Hip Surgery

In February Alexi had hip surgery (her hips were slipping out of socket). This was her most challenging procedure so far. There were many risks that came with the surgery. But, as always she did beautifully and amazed us once again.

Alexi was in the hospital for almost a week and in a Spica cast for three weeks. We had many, many wonderful friends and family that called and visited us. Our ward family was a huge support to us all the way. We had an overwhelming sense of peace from the Lord and faith that what would be, would be.

This was one of Lexi's favorite places to sit. It was hard for her not to snuggle with Mom and Dad.

And of course we had to paint her toes.
When a pretty girl can't wear socks her toes must be painted!

We were so excited to get the cast off. I couldn't stop smiling the entire time the nurse was cutting it off. I think the cast was more of a challenge for Shane and I then for Alexi.

Here is a picture of her new "hardware".

The day the cast came off Alexi was able to have a "real" bath for the first time in three weeks and she snuggled with Mom and Dad all day.

We are so grateful for her quick recovery, the mercy of the Lord and the many family and friends who showed us their love and support during this trying time. Thank you and we love you all!

What an amazing little girl! She has always been a fighter. I can't believe how big she's getting. We're always thinking about your family. Love you guys.
